“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” - Unknown
How are you functioning in your life? In your relationships? Are you joyful, confident, optimistic? Or are you feeling stuck, sad, frustrated, or lonely? Relationships are a primary force in our lives; without healthy relationships our lives suffer. Because relationships are so important, the way we attach to others within those relationships, and how we create healthy attachments, is extremely important. What I work toward is healthier relationships for my clients; relationship with self as well as relationships with others. In our work together it will be our relationship that provides a safe place from which to explore change.
Those first steps toward change are difficult; I can help you navigate those steps. I understand that you are doing the best you can, while at the same time perhaps you sense a need for more. As a relationship-based therapist I will provide a safe place in which you will begin to flourish. We will use a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and trauma-focused techniques to achieve your goals.
Change comes from within. Sometimes we lose sight of the possibility of change. My work focuses on helping my client find that place within where positive change begins. We can’t change what has happened in the past, and at the same time we have absolute control over how we act in response to what has happened. In our work together we will learn to stop reacting and start acting in response to events of our lives. You are unique; your process should be unique as well. My goal is to provide that unique approach that has you living your best life.
